The
Russellville Water Board supplies city and many county residents
with high quality water that ranks as some of the cleanest
in the country. Communities served along with Russellville
include Siloan, Waco, Belgreen, Isbell, Tharptown and the
Franklin County Water System.
Major
efforts are taken to keep our water as clean and pure as possible.
Russellville treats your water using disinfection and filtration
to remove or reduce harmful contaminants that may come from
the source water. To further ensure your safety, water samples
are taken from various locations and sent to independent laboratories
for testing of purification every two weeks. This is mandated
by law. But as a further measure to protect your safety, every
day, every moment, our water is being monitored
by highly accurate measuring devices and the results are digitally
recorded every fifteen minutes. These records are then kept
for further evaluation if ever necessary.

Water
Conservation
The average U.S. Citizen uses about 100 gallons of water every
single day. That adds up to a lot of water. The Russellville
Water Board alone supplies over 2 1/2 MILLION GALLONS of water
every day! Even though our region has an abundant supply of
fresh water, it's very important that we don't waste water needlessly.
Remember, we all have to pay for our water, so by saving water
we're being good to our environment and we're saving money.
Take a look at these water wasting
facts. |

Quick
Fact
Even though the Earth's surface consists of about 70% water,
only 3% is fresh water. The rest is too salty to drink. Of
that 3 percent, 75% is frozen in glaciers.
